Peer Support at Oak House

Guided by Shared Experience

At Oak House, we believe in the powerful impact of connecting with someone who truly understands your journey. Our Peer Support program is built on this foundation, offering a unique and effective path to recovery for individuals navigating mental health challenges and/or substance use disorders.

What is Peer Support?

Peer Support at Oak House connects individuals with Peer Supporters – those who have walked similar paths and now offer their insights, encouragement, and practical strategies. This support is rooted not in clinical training alone, but in lived experience and shared understanding.

Why It Matters

Our Peer Supporters foster hope and resilience. They serve as powerful role models, helping others see that recovery is not only possible but achievable. The emotional connection built through peer relationships plays a vital role in reducing stigma and promoting lasting wellness.

Serving Our Community

This vital program isn’t just for Oak House members—it extends into the broader community, helping to create an inclusive, compassionate support system for those in Seneca, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Wyandot counties.
